Autumn Newsletter

Howdy Friends of Cedar Fox Studios and Gallery!

As we are rounding out our first 6 months (!) and as I learn how to serve our community better, I hope you will find patience and understanding as we tweak our schedules, change our policies, and practice the art of reflecting on what works well in our community and what does not. It has been such an honor to be part of this budding art community!

While we grow, I am committed to bringing you better scheduled activities so that we can offer more accessible events to a variety of schedules and to not conflict with more common events. Here’s a few updates…

Change to Co-Create Nights:

We’ve had several gatherings that became some of my favorite memories and helped us make some incredible new friends and enjoy creating together. We’re renaming Co-Create Nights to Co-Create Open Studio. Our last evening event will be on Wednesday, October 8th, from 5-8 PM, then we will resume a normal schedule of every fourth Sunday of the month from noon-3 PM starting 10/26 until the end of the year.

Our ten guest limit could fill up quickly so reserve your spot via text or voicemail to 262-672-0641. We will accept in drop in guests if space allows.  We will also be accepting optional “Keep the Lights On” Donations to the gallery during these Co-Create Open Studio times. Bring your creative project and supplies- easels and sink for cleanup available, as well as bathroom and refrigerator if you’d like to bring a favorite beverage- we will have bottled water available. Arrive and leave anytime during the open studio. Come join our creative family!

Art and Soul Gallery:

I have to mention an enchanting gallery I visited in Ely, Minnesota: Art and Soul Gallery. The owner and contributing artists were so friendly that they felt like family. And their gallery was one of our favorite explorations in the area. So much talent and dedication. It was a joy to find that Ellen had family down here in Adams/Friendship… “Ever here of it?” she said… Mind blown and laughing together – It’s those amazing synchronicities that bless us- we have found treasure and will be staying in touch! Thank you Ellen for visiting Cedar Fox Studios & Gallery too! I have a feeling I could learn a lot from all the Creatives up north!

Ladies Night Out!

We are excited to be having a table at the 21st Annual Ladies Night Out event held at the high school. It should be a wonderful event full of freebies, goodies and information on services. I will be there to network and introduce studio/gallery! Join us for a fun evening!

Community Art Projects:

  • Our In-house Community Painting : available to all who wish as they visit CFSG at any age and skill level.  We have completed one every month since our opening and we are planning to offer a calendar of our first works to benefit our local animal shelter.  We will also be auctioning off these works in the future. Below is the finished piece from September! I hope you’ll stop down and leave your good energy on that canvas- I should say canvases, as we are doing a diptych – a two-piece painting together this month! Thank you to all our wonderful contributors!

  • Mural Works for Adams Friendship Middle School: We are happy to announce that the project proposed by our School Board Member Roberta (Bobbi) Pantaleo to bring vibrant murals and artwork to the middle school has been approved!
  • We will be joining the collaboration with teachers, art students, and community members to enhance the daily experience through uplifting and meaningful artwork that reflects our students’ beauty and potential.  The organizers are seeking volunteers to donate their time painting, acrylic paint, and/or funds for this incredible project.  Send a message directly to Bobbi if you would like to contribute your kindness to the deserving students at AF Middle School.  Donations can be made to the AF Middle School Art Club and mailed to the district office at 201 W 6th St., Friendship, WI 53934

  • Help for Cabins on the Lake, Patti & Eddie Benefit: As many of our immediate community members know, our friends Patti and Eddie lost everything in a fire earlier this year and the insurance fell way short.  When you think of small town charm and the kind of people you want to have a community with… these are those kind of people.  I am donating some of my best work to help them rebuild their life because I believe in their vision of what loving your neighbor means.  Come out and place a generous bid on something beautiful or useful at this community wide event.

  • Community Art Services Board: So many of the wonderful people who have walked through my door have honored me with sharing their work, their creations, their hobbies, indeed their most beautiful creative selves.  I would like to help support those that have their own creative businesses or services in our area by providing a new art services board.  It is starting off little but I am willing to expand it as the local creative peoples need. If you make custom creations, teach art classes, take portrait commissions, or have a website of work and services to offer, You are invited to leave a small quarter- half sheet flyer- and/ or a “salesman sampler”- a miniature version example of your work and contact info to share with visitors.  Let me know if you’d like to be on our website too! A New Page is in the works.

“Up In Adams” Radio Show:

And Last but not Least: We have Proudly started sponsoring the Wisconsin 106.1 “Up In Adams” Saturday morning show from 6-10am every Saturday with our pal Marcus! I hope you’ll take a little time out and hear what is happening in our area and enjoy the wide variety of music our local station provides. Listen Live: Wisconsin106.com and see ’em in action at 179 S. Main St., Adams

And with that, I close this little update on the many things a foot in this little studio/gallery. I love and am honored to be part of this community and hope to meet more of you in the next coming months! Cheers! – Cedar
